Abstract

Reviews two articles on attention. The first article includes Fukuya's (1919) study on the relative efficiency and speed, during strained and normal attention in copying words, making conditions and learning nonsense figures and symbols. The study was carried out on 106 students from various grades. Results showed no difference between the two forms of attention. Attention was maximum at the beginning of work and for short periods of work. The second article includes the work of Lobsien, who modified and applied Munsterberg's Street Railway Employee's Test on 20 children. High correlation was found between intelligence and the results of the test. The extent and efficiency of attention showed an inverse relation.
