Examines a pilot study which developed a vocational adjustment rating scale for the retarded using 113 15-44 yr. old mental retardates as Ss. It was hypothesized that retardates classified as better workers can be significantly different from those classified as poor workers in the scale ratings provided by their supervisors. The scale, composed of 52 brief items, showed high reliability and concurrent validity. Results support the hypothesis and warrant further research toward standardization of the scale.
