Abstract

Presents a refutation of W. Banks (see pa, vol. 44:20012) argument that the invariance of type ii d' (or d*, the "corrected-for-guessing" type ii d') with respect to probability correct in recall is an artifact. The replicability of that invariance, the theoretical implications, and the meaning of a criterion in the recall situation are discussed. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
