Developed factor scores denoting likelihood of becoming personal-problem clients of a counseling center by means of criterion analysis for an entire freshman class (n = 981). Invitations offering interpretation of orientation test scores were sent to 300 incoming freshman ss randomly selected for similarity or dissimilarity to clients. Significantly (p < .01) more males and females whose personal-problem factor scores indicated greater likelihood of becoming clients accepted the invitation.
