Abstract

Internship applicants in American Psychological Association (APA)-approved clinical psychology programs rated the importance of 22 factors in influencing their decision to apply for a particular internship. APA approval, geographic location, emphasis on adult-clinical work, theoretical orientation of the faculty, multidisciplinary setting, and mixture of child, adult, and community emphases were all ranked at least 5 on the 7-point scale.
