Reviews the book, Study of Values, Revised Edition by Gordon W. Allport; Philip E. Vernon and Gardner Lindzey (see record 1953-07472-000). After twenty years of wide and varied use, the Study of Values has been revised thoroughly. The manual gives an extensive report of the statistical characteristics of the revision. New and revised items were selected by three successive item analyses, and each scale is internally consistent. The new format simplifies the process of scoring and eliminates the need for a separate score sheet. In its excellent new revision, the Study of Values seems destined to several more decades of service as a tool for guidance and for research.
