Attention is the reaction or facilitation of the reaction to some stimuli with a simultaneous greater or less inhibition of the reaction to others; or in terms of consciousness it is the arrangement into clear and obscure levels. This chapter looks at primary (instinctive) and derived primary (habitual) attention, secondary attention, and experimental study of abnormal attention.
