This chapter describes what psychologists can do to increase the impact of their research in government and organizations. The difference psychology can make in government and organizations is described. The Behavioral Insights Group at Harvard (BIG) is highlighted. BIG plays a central role in helping leaders create environments that promote more ethical and evidence-based decision making, advance the well-being of society, increase voter turnout, create better educational systems, reduce discrimination, protect the environment, improve financial decisions, diminish societal risks, and ameliorate-rate health—all by helping individuals, groups, organizations, and society make better decisions. Dalton and Bazerman discuss how researchers should approach working with government and organizations and whether psychologists are receiving credit for behavioral insights.
